Introducing the Trust and its collection
The James Henry Green Charitable Trust is a UK-registered charity that preserves the legacy of James Henry Green (1893–1975), who served as a recruitment officer for the Burma Rifles (1918–1935) in Burma (now Myanmar) and was an accomplished amateur photographer.
The Trust maintains and provides access to the unique collection of mainly Burmese (Myanmar) textiles, artefacts and photographs assembled by Colonel Green and his Anglo-Burmese wife Dorothy Green in the early 20th century.
The Trust supports activities at the Green Centre for World Art within Brighton Museum & Art Gallery and provides educational grants for research aligned with the Collection. Images on this website include photographs and items from the Collection.
The stakeholder consultation on the revised objects of the James Henry Green Charitable Trust has now closed.
We are grateful for the comments that we received and are now making our final submission to the Charity Commission. Once the objects have been revised and approved, they will be published here and on our Charity Commission page.
